When DJ Mag’s Top 100 Doesn’t Work For You…

If you took a look at DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs Poll of 2013 and it didn’t exactly line up with your idea of the best DJs in the world, try these lists instead! The following lists are from some pretty well-respected dance music sites so they are definitely worth a look, but don’t expect cookie-cutter EDM to top the lists every time.

Check ’em out here:

  1. Residential Advisor: Top DJs of 2013 Poll
These guys really tried to put together a list that is of “global relevance.” Voted on by Residential Advisor (or RA) readers, this list definitely has some unexpected DJs near the top. As a result I find myself hearing new names and suddenly have lots of homework to do! If you are looking for some fresh sounds, this list is for you.
  2. Topple Track’s Top 100 DJs
Inthemix posted an article today shedding light on a new kind of Top 100 DJ list. This list is “data-driven” and is therefore based on social media presence, likes, posts, followers, that kind of thing. The results are very interesting with DJs like Tiesto and Armin van Buuren not even cracking the top 10. Ouch! While other DJs like Knife Party, who come at number 9, seem oddly placed. Check it out for yourself!
  3. Do Androids Dance – 20 DJs Who Should Have Been on the 2013 DJ Mag Top 100
So this isn’t technically a full list, but still worth a read. Do Androids Dance put together a list with some really talented artists like Bassnectar and Nicole Moudaber who, upon reading this, really should have been included. I actually had to go back and check for some of these names, not believing they had been left off. Another great list for those in the constant search for new tunes.
